Container is an Amsterdam based studio. Founder Marieke Thijssen studied fashion at the ArtEZ Institute of the Arts and works autonomous and on commission. With a future focused vision and by researching the origin she creates images to illustrate an idea or a story.
An interest in cultural history and the love for craftmanship are the base to discover and create. The paper and thread are fragile and a conscious choice, leaving room for multiple interpretations. When working with a client the making process is about collaboration and curiosity about the values of their brand or service, taking care of the fair treatment of humans and our planet.
Marieke’s background in fashion enables her work to fit comfortably in both design and art.
